About

Made from inside the community

Both Brides started with a search bar and a sigh. Every bachelorette resource assumed a groom was waiting at the end. Every "LGBTQ-friendly" wedding article was the same three tips with a rainbow on top. And the practical questions — do we throw one party or two? what do we call it? where are the games that don't mention a him? — had no good answers anywhere.

So we're writing them. Both Brides is planning help for lesbian, sapphic, and queer couples, made by people who are part of this community, not marketing to it. Real decision frameworks instead of shrugs. Printables designed for two brides from the first draft, not find-and-replaced. And a standing rule that every tradition is optional except one: both of you, celebrated fully.

Who's writing this

Hi — I'm Jen. I've been married twice, both times to a woman, which means I've planned two weddings from the inside and have opinions about roughly all of it. One of those marriages ended in divorce; the other one is my life now, with my wife and our daughter.

I'm also old enough to remember when none of this was allowed. I have an equal sign tattooed on me from the day Obergefell came down in 2015 — a group of us went out to celebrate and decided it should be permanent. That's the perspective I bring to this: planning help from someone who remembers what it cost to get here, and who has personally done the seating chart. The longer version is here.

Whether you're a bride, the person of honor, or the friend who got voluntold into planning — welcome. Start with the big question, browse the guides, or grab the printables when they drop.
